The Literacy Center is a private, non-profit organization that empowers adults through community-based literacy education.

Most students taking classes at the center face some daily challenge that impacts their studies. Whether it is food insecurity, economic hardship, lack of healthcare, housing concerns, domestic issues, or finding childcare, it makes focusing on class difficult.

The Literacy Center partners with organizations in the Lehigh Valley to help their students find resources that make their lives a little easier. We created this resource map to help current and potential students locate organizations with which the center partners. With over 30 resources within a half-mile of The Literacy Center, students can access them within walking distance before and after classes.

Our Neighbors Are Here To Help

It was essential for The Literacy Center to create a printed resource map. Interviews and surveys showed that most current students learned about the center from a community member who handed them a brochure or pamphlet from The Literacy Center. This map ensures that many people in the community can quickly locate these resources as needed.

Helping Our Neighbors One Partnership at a Time

The center partners with many organizations throughout the entire county. With students throughout the Lehigh Valley, it was necessary to highlight partners closer to students living in other areas.
